Note: This program is only available to electric customers in CenterPoint Energy's service territory (greater Houston area, Texas). 

The CenterPoint Energy New Homes Program offers both ENERGY STAR and non-ENERGY STAR builders the opportunity to leverage incentives and utilize program resources to help improve the efficiency of their homes. 

Benefits include: 

• Home energy performance consulting: Learn how to leverage program incentives to improve the efficiency of your homes 

• Energy Efficiency technical trainings: Your home energy rater and HVAC contractor can gain new skills and brush up on current ones in trainings offered every year

Home Energy Solutions Micro-Loan Program

Capital for Change, in partnership with the electric and gas utilities, offers a variety of low interest loans to finance energy efficiency upgrades. The program offers On-Bill Repayment financing, where the loan amount can be paid through a surcharge on the monthly electricity bill, for electric customers of Eversource. The loans are not transferable, and there currently is no collateral requirement. 

Eligibility

Customers of Eversource (formerly CL&P) and United Illuminating are eligible for the program. Applicants must own a single or two-family home (including condos and vacation homes).

Provides 0% APR financing for loan $500 to $3,000

(Electric and Gas) Residential Rebate Program

The Energize Connecticut (CT) program is a joint initiative between the CT Energy Efficiency Fund, CT Green Bank, the State of CT and local/state electric and gas utilities designed to provide businesses and residents of CT access to resources needed to save energy. Within this program are rebates offered for Eversource, United Illuminating (UI), CT Natural Gas (CNG), and Southern CT Gas Company (SCG) customers.

Noble REMC - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Incentives

Through Wabash Valley Power Association's POWER MOVES program, Noble REMC offers residential rebates. Incentives are provided for heat pumps, water heaters, heating and cooling/ HVAC systems, and whole building measures. Local Option- Renewable Energy Machinery and Tools Property Tax Exemption

HB 1297, enacted in March 2015, provides an option for the local governing body of any county, city, or town to impose a different property tax on renewable energy generating machinery and tools than other normal use machinery. The rate of property tax imposed must not exceed that is applicable to the general class of machinery and tools.
