Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program - Competitive Solar Incentive

By Board Order 12-7-22-8C on December 7, 2022, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities established the Competitive Solar Incentive (CSI) Program as part of the Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program. The SuSI Program was established to replace the SREC Registration Program in July 2021.

The SuSI program consists of two sub-programs:

Oncor Electric Delivery - Commercial Solar Program

 Oncor Electric Delivery offers rebates to its customers that install photovoltaic (PV) systems on businesses in its service area. Oncor commercial customers are eligible to participate in the program. Rebates may be assigned to the customer, a service provider, or a third party.

Eligibility

A commercial customer's business must have electric delivery service provided by Oncor. Systems must be new, connected to the grid on the customer side of the meter and meet all applicable code and utility interconnection requirements. All installations must be performed by service providers who meet specific program eligibility requirements.

Santee Cooper - Commercial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The 2025 Santee Cooper Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program helps businesses reduce energy costs by providing cash incentives for upgrading to high-efficiency equipment. Eligible measures include lighting upgrades, HVAC systems, refrigeration and kitchen equipment, domestic hot water improvements, pumps and motors, and smart thermostats. Rebates are available for both new construction and retrofit projects, covering technologies such as LED lighting, ENERGY STAR® appliances, variable speed drives, and efficient water heating systems. The program is designed to lower the upfront cost of energy-efficient improvements and promote long-term energy savings for commercial customers.

Previously-Owned Clean Vehicle Tax Credit

Note: Section 70501 of The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) repealed this tax credit for equipment placed in service after September 30, 2025. 

Section 13402 of The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (H.R. 5376) established a tax credit for previously-owned clean vehicles purchased by a taxpayer after December 31, 2022. The credit is worth the lesser of $4,000 or 30% of the sale price. The model year of the vehicle must be at least two years earlier than the calendar year in which the taxpayer acquires it, and the vehicle must have a gross vehicle

Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Tax Credit (Personal)

Note: Section 70504 of The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) repealed this tax credit for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. 

Qualified alternative fuel vehicle refueling equipment not subject to depreciation allowances, including electric vehicle charging equipment, is eligible for a tax credit of 30% up to $1,000. These projects do not have to meet the same labor standards as commercial projects in order to qualify for the full 30% tax credit.

New Solar Market Development Tax Credit

New Mexico provides a 10% personal income tax credit (up to $6,000) for taxpayers that own a residence, business, or agricultural enterprise who purchase and install certified photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems on their property or on property they lease from a federally recognized Indian nation, tribe, or pueblo.
