Qualified Energy Property Tax Exemption for Projects 250 kW or Less

Note: According to the Ohio Development Services Agency website, the owner or lessee subject to the sale-leaseback transaction must apply to Development Services Agency on or before December 31, 2028, to qualify for this tax credit.

Ohio's Renewable and Advanced Energy Project Property Tax Exemption, enacted with the passage of Ohio S.B. 232 in the summer of 2010, exempts qualified energy projects in Ohio from public utility tangible personal property taxes and real property taxes.

Per Ohio Revision Code 5709.53, qualified energy systems of 250 kilowatts (kW) or less will not be subject to payment in lieu of property tax

Property Tax Exemption

Renewable energy personal property that is located on a residential classified property, owned by the residential property owner, and produces energy that is used by the residential property is exempt from Colorado property taxation.

Independently owned residential solar electric generation facilities that meet the criteria listed in § 39-1-102 (6.8), C.R.S. are exempt from Colorado property taxation under § 39-3-102, C.R.S. To qualify for the exemption the solar electric generation facility must be located on residential real property, used to produce electricity from solar energy primarily for use in the residential improvements, and have a production capacity

Piedmont Natural Gas - Residential Equipment Efficiency Program

Piedmont Natural Gas offers rebates on high-efficiency natural gas tankless water heaters, tank water heaters and furnaces. This program is only available to current Piedmont residential and commercial customers in North Carolina and South Carolina who are replacing existing natural gas equipment with qualifying high-efficiency natural gas equipment. New construction customers and customers replacing existing electric and/or propane equipment are not eligible for the rebates. Northern Lights Inc. - Energy Conservation Rebate Program

Northern Lights Inc. offers a variety of rebates for the purchase and installation of energy efficient appliances and measures. A list of eligible equipment and rebate amounts can be found on the program website. Equipment and manufactured homes must meet all program efficiency standards to receive rebates. All members who receive electric service from Northern Lights qualify for incentives.  Interested customers should contact Northern Lights for more general information on the rebate process.

River Falls Municipal Utilities - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

River Falls Municipal Utility (RFMU), in conjunction with the Wisconsin Focus on Energy program, offers a variety of rebates to residential electric customers for upgrading to energy efficient equipment. Incentives currently exist for electric vehicle chargers, smart thermostats, landscape equipment and A/C system tune-ups.

RFMU's Renewable Energy Program also provides a host of incentives for customers participating in Green Blocks, Community and Rooftop Solar to qualify for larger rebates. RFMU is also encouraging its customers to plant trees around their homes for the energy saving and environmental benefits. MidAmerican Energy (Gas) - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

MidAmerican Energy offers basic energy efficiency incentives for residential customers in Nebraska. These incentives include gas heating equipment such as furnaces and water heaters. Rebates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Rebates cannot exceed 70% of the equipment cost. Equipment cost does not include labor. Local Option - Special Improvement Districts

Note: In 2010, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), which has authority over mortgage underwriters Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, directed these enterprises against purchasing mortgages of homes with a PACE lien due to its senior status above a mortgage. Most residential PACE activities subsided following this directive; however, some residential PACE programs are now operating with loan loss reserve funds, appropriate disclosures, or other protections meant to address FHFA's concerns. Commercial PACE programs were not directly affected by FHFA’s actions, as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac do not underwrite commercial mortgages. Green Mountain Energy Renewable Rewards Program

Corona Department of Water & Power - Solar Partnership Rebate Program

Corona Department of Water & Power is providing rebates for residential and commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems. The rebate amount for 2015 is $0.78 per watt up to $2,340 for residential systems and $19,500 for commercial systems. Energy Efficient Residential Construction Tax Credit (Corporate)

Oklahoma allows a contractor who is the primary builder of an energy efficient home or manufactured home substantially completed after December 31, 2005, to claim an income tax credit beginning in tax year 2006. The home must be under 2,000 square feet. Improvements eligible for the credit include energy efficient heating and cooling systems, windows, doors, roofs, and insulation to minimize heat loss and gain.
