Rebates

Right To Installation:

In 2007, New Jersey enacted legislation preventing homeowners associations from prohibiting the installation of solar collectors on certain types of residential properties. The term "solar collector" is not defined, but would seem to include both solar photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies. This law covers only dwellings that are not deemed community property of the association, including townhouses which have at least two sides that are unattached to any other building and for which the owner, rather than the association, is responsible for roof maintenance.

Modesto Irrigation District offers a photovoltaic rebate program for all of their electric customers. The peak output capacity of a system must be 1 kW or greater to participate. Systems up to 30 kilowatts (kW) in capacity can receive an up-front capacity-based incentive. Systems greater than 30 kW and up to 1,000 kW (1 MW) can receive a performance-based incentive. The rebate levels will decline over time.

 

City Utilities of Springfield Missouri provides incentives for residential customers to increase the efficiency of eligible homes. Rebates are available for programmable thermostats, insulation upgrades, whole home upgrades, and HVAC equipment. The HVAC rebates are available for single- and multi-family residential customers, as well as new home builders. Some rebates may vary based upon the efficiency of the purchased equipment. All equipment must meet minimum efficiency requirements to receive rebate. Note: The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (Illinois Public Act 102-0662) removed the 5% aggregate cap on net metering and replaced it with a threshold date of December 31, 2024. This law also raised the individual system size cap to 5 MW, although systems must still be sized to meet on-site electricity needs. As of December 31, 2024, for Commonwealth Edison and Ameren Illinois customers, and as of January 1, 2025 for MidAmerican Energy customers, retail rate net metering is no longer available for new customers; new customers are instead compensated using an hourly net billing formula that compensates excess

The Washington State Department of Commerce created the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard (ESDS), a set of green building criteria that is required for any affordable housing project applying for state funds through the Washington State Housing Trust Fund (HTF) beginning in July 2008. The standard is based on a point system which awards points for a variety of sustainable building practices including:

• Site location and neighborhood planning;
• Water conservation;
• Energy efficiency and the incorporation of renewable energy technologies; and
• Environmentally-conscious construction practices, building materials and improved indoor-air quality.

The standards were updated in 2018 to ESDS Version 4.0. A complete

Carroll White REMC offers incentives for the purchase and installation of energy efficient heat pumps. Rebates are available for air source and geothermal heat pumps. Carroll White REMC also offers a contractor payment of $150 upon successful inspection. A Carroll White REMC inspection of the equipment and installation is required upon completion. Customers should call the office to arrange an appointment with technicians from Carroll White and the rebate will be mailed to eligible applicants. Dominion Energy provides incentives for home builders who incorporate energy efficiency into new construction. Builders can receive whole house rebates for building Energy Star homes (certified by an eligible home rater) and High Performance homes . All equipment and construction requirements must be met in order to participate. The program application, builder participation agreement, and more details about incentive amounts and efficiency requirements are located on the program web site.

Dominion Energy provides rebates for residential customers who make their homes more energy efficient by installing certain efficient heating equipment and certain weatherization measures. Incentives are available for programmable thermostats, water heats, boilers and dual-fuel heat pumps.
