Consolidated Edison - SmartCharge New York

Consolidated Edison offers the following incentives for electric vehicle chargers enrolled through its SmartCharge New York Program.

  • $25 3-Month Bonus: Earned per vehicle or charging station after 3 months of charging (does not need to be consecutive)
  • 10 cents per kWh Off-Peak Charging Incentive: Earned for charging at off-peak times
  • $35 per month Avoided Summer Peak Incentive: Earned per vehicle or charging station for avoiding charging weekdays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST, June 1 through September 30
  • $25 per referral for referring a friend
  • $35 summer peak bonus reward

Clean Energy Advantage Loan Program

The Clean Energy Advantage Loan Program offers Maryland residents served by utilities BGE, SMECO, Potomac Edison, Delmarva Power, Pepco (excluding Montgomery County), or Washington Gas a financing option for energy measures. The loan project must be combined with utility rebates (i.e., go through the applicant's utility's Home Performance with Energy Star, Home Energy Improvement Program, or HVAC rebate program) and use a participating contractor. 

Loan amounts range from $3,000 up to $50,000 while funds last. 0% APR interest is available for the first 24 months with 50% rate reduction applied after 24 months. Secured loans may receive rates as low

Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan

In FY 2023-2024, the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) launched the Energy Accelerator Program (EAP), a green bank for Pennsylvania. PEDA has contracted with the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) to launch the first two financing products under the EAP in spring of 2024, the first of which is the Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP). 

KEEP offers low-interest rates and incentivizes high-performing Energy Star upgrades for credit-qualified borrowers. Loans are made directly to the consumer and can range between $2,500 and $25,000 depending on the applicant's credit score.

Affordable Home Electrification Program (AHEP)

This program operates with both local District and federal Department of Energy Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) funding.

The Affordable Home Electrification Program can help households switch from natural gas and electrify home heating, water heating, and cooking systems. Qualified households can upgrade gas or oil HVAC system to energy-efficient electric equipment at no cost to the tenant or homeowner.

Equipment includes: 

  • Programmable thermostats
  • Heat pumps (ducted or ductless)
  • Heat pump water heaters
  • Electric induction stoves
  • Heat pump clothes dryers

Eligible households are homeowners or tenants in the District that participate in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance

Tucson Electric Power - Energy Storage Rewards Program

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) provides an incentive for customers to enroll their battery system in the utility's Energy Storage Rewards Program. To receive compensation, customers agree to have their batteries charge and discharge at times that are optimal for the grid, including during on-peak and off-peak times, as well as any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Participants will be notified before upcoming events, but all steps will be automated so they will not need to take any action unless they want to opt out or change their battery’s settings. Each event may last 1 to 4 hours

Delaware Electric Cooperative - Beat the Peak With Electric Vehicles

Delaware Electric Cooperative offers its members a program called Beat the Peak. During times when the cost to purchase and produce power for members is high, they issue alerts asking members to conserve energy. Since 2008, they have saved about $42 million. The two technologies currently included in this program are Wi-Fi thermostats and electric vehicles. See their website for details.

Electric Vehicle Tax Credit

H.B 2234, enacted in April 2021, created a 3¢/kWh tax on electric vehicle charging at public, for-profit charging stations. The tax will go into action on January 1, 2024. For taxable years beginning after December 31, 2023, electric vehicle owners can apply for a tax credit against these charges. The maximum amount of credit is equal to the registration fees for the electric vehicle(s) paid during the same tax year:

  • Vehicles under 6,000 pounds: $110 for all-electric, $82 for plug-in hybrids
  • Vehicles 6,000 - 10,000 pounds: $158 for all-electric, $118 for plug-in hybrids
  • Vehicles 10,000 - 26,000 pounds: $363 for

Wisconsin - Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program

Note: The Federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) created the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program. The IRA established the main parameters for this program, but allowed the states to customize the program to meet their state-specific needs. The program is designed to award rebates for purchase of qualifying home electrification equipment and appliances. Residents earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) can receive the full rebate amount, and residents earning between 80% and 150% AMI can receive a partial rebate.
