Rebates

The Community Solar LMI-PPA Grant Program provides monetary incentives to ensure that the benefits of community solar are available to income qualified Maryland households. 

In FY 2026, the income requirements focus on households that meet the definition of low-income only. 

The grant is divided into two areas of interest (AOIs):

• AOI 1: Project Granted Capacity Under the Community Solar Permanent Program - The project must guarantee at least fifteen percent (15%) of the energy output from the community solar system is subscribed to Low Income subscribers, with minimum cost savings to those subscribers of twenty-five percent (25%) from the utility’s

The Solar Energy Program (SEP) program offers financial assistance as grants and loans to eligible applicants to promote manufacturing, research and development, and generation of solar energy in the state. The program is administered jointly by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) under direction of the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). 

Eligibility

The following applicants are eligible for grants:

1. A Business – a corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship, limited liability company, business trust, or other commercial entity approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The term shall include venture capital firms, solar energy

The Solar for Schools Grant Program was established by the Pennsylvania Solar for Schools Act. The program awards grants to school districts, intermediate units, charter schools including cyber, regional, and a school for education of the deaf or the blind, area career and technical schools, specific trade and technical schools, and community colleges can use to fund solar energy projects. The grants are intended to support purchase and installation of equipment, permit fees, energy storage, and utility interconnection.

Energize Delaware is now accepting grant applications for their Solar for School Districts Grant. Schools within a Delaware public school district may use grants for feasibility studies, installation, array components, and the cost of utility upgrades. Successful grantees will be offered a contract with Energize Delaware that will set forth the terms of the grant. Grants will be active for a period of 24 months after the funding has been allocated and the grant has been approved by Energize Delaware.

Energize Delaware is now providing grants for new solar projects for non-profits and public libraries. Eligible new projects include feasibility studies, installation, array components, and cost of utility upgrades. Successful grantees will be offered a contract with Energize Delaware that will set forth the terms of the grant. Grants will be active for a period of 12 months after the funding has been allocated and the grant has been approved by Energize Delaware.

Application Requirements:

• Must be in Delaware
• Apply for ground, roof or carport mounted solar system
• Will be required to report production on an annual basis for three

The Delaware Low- to Moderate-Income (LMI) Solar Pilot Program provides grant funding to promote the use of renewable energy in low- and moderate-income households regardless of electric utility service territory. 

Low-income applicants can receive a cost-free solar system of up to 4 kW and cost-free weatherization services installed by a program-selected contractor. Moderate-income applicants can receive a reduced-cost solar system of up to 6 kW where the LMI solar program pays for 70% of the system installed by their choice of approved LMI solar contractor.

There are two ways to qualify for receiving a cost-free or reduced-cost solar installation:

Energy Smart Colorado and Walking Mountains Science Center offer a solar PV rebate to residents in certain locations of Eagle County. Residents of the Towns of Avon, Eagle, or Vail, or Edwards Metro District can receive up to $1,000 per property. Residents of unincorporated Eagle County can receive a rebate matching the rebate provided by Holy Cross Energy, up to $1,000. Systems must be installed on-site of an existing building and tied to the grid.

The Pennsylvania Green Energy Loan Fund (GELF) is a revolving loan fund managed by the Reinvestment Fund with support from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.  It offers low-interest loan financing for energy efficiency retrofits and the installation of energy conservation measures and high-performance energy systems in all building types except single-family residential homes. These properties include commercial, nonprofit, local government, multifamily, and industrial buildings/facilities.

Loans typically range from $100,000 and $2,500,000 or more. The loan term will be consistent with the life of the improvements, up to 15 years. Interest rates differ on a case-by-case basis, but generally range

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources' (DOER) Leading by Example Solar-Decarbonization Grant Program aims to support the affordability of new integrated solar PV installations at state facilities that will assist Commonwealth agencies and campuses to reduce energy costs while also supporting the aggressive clean energy targets for state government operations, decarbonization goals, and grid intermittency. The Solar-Decarbonization Program provides enhanced incentives for new state solar PV deployment, battery energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and decarbonization efforts.

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources' (DOER) Leading By Example Restoration Grant for Solar PV & Decarbonized Systems program supports existing solar PV and decarbonized energy systems at state facilities by funding the repair or replacement of critical components, including solar PV. This helps reduce energy costs while advancing the state government's ambitious clean energy targets, decarbonization goals, and efforts to address grid intermittency.
