The Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD), offers the "Incentive Rebate Program" to encourage residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. All home energy efficiency incentive rebates require an audit through the NextZero program before any work is done and requires a post-installation inspection. There is a maximum rebate of $1,500 for energy efficiency improvements approved by a NextZero audit per qualifying customer per year. Eligible upgrades include various forms of insulation, weather stripping, and window and door replacement. This incentive is available to the customer once every 12 months. HG&E’s Residential Energy Conservation Program (RECP) provides financial assistance at 0% interest for the implementation of qualifying energy efficiency and electrification projects.  Financial assistance is repayable over a period of up to five years and repayment charges are conveniently placed on your HG&E monthly bill.  Note: A one-time processing fee of $100 applies.

Fort Collins Utilities offers its residential customers low-interest loans that may be used to finance up to 100% of the cost of eligible energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at existing homes. This loan program offers no-money-down financing for up to 15 years. Payments are made through the customer's utility bill, and there is a limit of one loan per premise. Eligible technologies are those eligible for Fort Collin's energy efficiency rebates. See the program website for more information, or see contacts below.

Fort Collins Utilities offers a number of appliance and recycling rebates to residential and small commercial customers. Applications for equipment rebates are available on the Fort Collins web site as well as at select local manufacturers and retailers. Fort Collins Utilities has also partnered with local retailers to bring you energy efficient lighting at a discounted rate.

Midstate Electric Cooperative (MEC) encourages energy efficiency in the commercial and industrial sectors by giving customers a choice of several different financial incentive programs. First,  rebates are available for a wide variety of lighting upgrades and improvements. The rebate amount varies on a per unit basis according to the type of lighting installed. To participate in this program, customers must schedule an energy audit of the existing lighting equipment with Midstate Electric before installing any new equipment. The Midstate Electric representative will make improvement recommendations during the course of the audit.

Custom rebates are also available for energy efficiency projects

Midstate Electric Cooperative (MEC) offers its residential customers a variety of rebates for energy efficient improvements and new energy efficient homes. Rebates are awarded for the installation of energy efficient appliances including washer/dryer combinations, heat pumps and heat pump water heaters. Rebates also are provided for weatherization measures including the installation of insulation and energy efficient windows. Additional incentives are offered for manufactured homes which are Energy Star certified. New Mexico provides a 10% personal income tax credit (up to $9,000) for individuals, sole proprietorship businesses (or one that is required or allowed to elect to file taxes using IRS Form 1040), and agricultural enterprises who purchase and install certified photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems. Eligible systems include grid-tied commercial PV systems, off-grid and grid-tied residential PV systems, and (active) solar hot water or hot air systems. The Focus on Energy Program offers incentives for residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Rebates are available for eligible furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air sealing, attic insulation, and water heaters. Improvements must meet the program’s efficiency and equipment standards in order to be eligible for an award. Equipment should be installed prior to submitting an application and should come from the list of pre-qualified equipment listed on the program web site.

Note: In November 2016, PNM was granted approval to extend the Customer Solar REC Purchase Programs through the end of 2019. 

In March 2006, PNM initiated a renewable energy credit (REC) purchase program as part of its plan to comply with New Mexico's renewable portfolio standard (RPS). PNM will purchase RECs from customers who install photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal electric systems up to 100 kilowatts (kW). PNM will then be able to apply these RECs towards their obligations under the state's RPS, which requires 4% of the total generation capacity to come from solar electricity and 0.6% from distributed generation

NOTE: CSU is not offering a solar energy rebate in 2023.

Through its Renewable Energy Rebate Program, Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) offers a rebate to customers who install grid-connected solar-electric (photovoltaic, or PV) systems. To calculate the PV system’s AC output, a de-rating factor is used to account for shading and suboptimal orientation or tilt.

All Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) generated from systems installed under this program are transferred to CSU for compliance with Colorado’s renewable portfolio standard.
