Rebates

In order to promote the efficient use of electricity, EPB of Chattanooga will waive certain usual charges if guidelines are followed and will award certain other incentives and advertising to assist in promoting the requirements.

Participation requires:

• Pre-wire homes with Cat-5e ethernet
• Install dual Cat-5e outlets in each living space
• Pass all required inspections
• Run all communication wiring to a centrally located “home run box”
• Meet a minimum HERS energy efficiency score of 93
  
  

Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC) provides rebates for dual fuel systems and mini-split systems in both standard and manufactured homes. Mini-split systems must meet minimum SEER(1) rating requirements. CAEC also offer rebates for new and existing manufactured homes that replace an electric furnace with a heat pump. Georgia enacted legislation in April 2006 (HB 1018) creating an exemption for biomass materials from the state's sales and use taxes. The term "biomass material" is defined as "organic matter, excluding fossil fuels, including agricultural crops, plants, trees, wood, wood wastes and residues, sawmill waste, sawdust, wood chips, bark chips, and forest thinning, harvesting, or clearing residues; wood waste from pallets or other wood demolition debris; peanut shells; pecan shells; cotton plants; corn stalks; and plant matter, including aquatic plants, grasses, stalks, vegetation, and residues, including hulls, shells, or cellulose-containing fibers."

WMU has partnered with Missouri River Energy Services for Residential rebates. Rebates are available for a variety of energy efficient equipment Which are listed above. All equipment must meet certain energy efficiency standards listed on the program website. Rebates are also available for maintenance on certain technologies. Shakopee Public Utilities offers its residential customers rebates on a variety of energy-efficient appliances and equipment. Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis while funds last for LED lighting,refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, Central A/C, heat pumps, and select appliance recycling. All rebate applications must include a receipt that provides proof of purchase (information needed: store name, customer name, date of sale, manufacturer name, model number, and date of installation).  Additionally all appliances need to be ENERGY STAR rated, and if applicable, must have UPC labels; proof of SEER, EER, and HSPF; and proof of recycling.  For specific program details

Owatonna offers incentives to residential customers who install energy-efficient equipment in homes through the Conserve and Save Rebate Program. Equipment rebates for technologies such as refrigerators, freezers and room air conditioners can be increased by properly recycling previously used, working units. Owatonna Public Utilities will reimburse the customer for the recycling costs if they have proof that they recycled an old unit and replaced it with an ENERGY STAR model. Rebate applications for measures purchased during the previous year are due by March 31 of the following year.

Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) offers a variety of incentives for its residential customers to install energy-efficient equipment in homes. Rebates are available for ENERGY STAR  and other high efficiency equipment, including:

ERMU’s Residential Rebates program is designed to help homeowners lower their utility bills and reduce energy usage by offering bill-credit incentives for installing energy-efficient equipment and upgrades. Eligible categories include ENERGY STAR® and WaterSense labeled appliances, home efficiency improvements, installation of 240-volt electric vehicle (EV) chargers (with rebates up to $700), high-efficiency heat pumps, upgraded HVAC equipment, and energy-efficient lighting and lighting controls. The rebates are delivered as credits on the customer’s utility bill, making the incentive directly linked to their monthly service.
