Rhode Island Energy (Gas) - Residential Gas Heating Rebate Programs

National Grid offers financial incentives for various energy efficiency measures in Rhode Island homes. Incentives are available for heaters, furnaces, boilers, and others. The program also offers a home energy assessment of the house at no cost to the participant. Rebates can be applied online or through the mail and must be sent within 60 days of the equipment installation date.

National Grid (Gas) - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs (Upstate New York)

National Grid’s High Efficiency Heating Rebates are offered to gas heating customers in the Upstate New York counties of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington. All equipment must meet certain energy standards provided on the website. Applications are to be completed and sent in after equipment installation. Eligible equipment includes High Efficiency Heating Equipment (boilers, furnaces and controls), Indirect Water Heaters and Wi-Fi enabled thermostats. GMP Solar Power

Green Mountain Power, an investor-owned electric utility operating in Vermont, offers a credit to customers with net-metered photovoltaic (PV) systems. In addition to the benefits of net metering, Green Mountain Power customers with a PV system less than 15 kilowatts (kW) receive a credit of $0.053 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity generated by the system. PV installations larger than 15 kW receive a credit of $0.043 per kWh. This credit is available to all customers of Green Mountain Power. Second Mortgage Program for Energy Conservation

Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) offers loans of up to $30,000, with a repayment term of 15 years, to qualified borrowers through the Second Mortgage for Energy Conservation program. Borrowers apply to AHFC for financing to make energy improvements on owner-occupied properties. Applicants must select from the list of energy upgrades, which are provided by an AKWarm certified energy rater. All improvements must be completed within 365 days of loan closing. Home Energy Rebate Program

Note: The Home Energy Rebate Program is suspended effective 5 pm March 25, 2016. Applicants on the waitlist may check the status of their application online, and new participants may call 1-877-257-3228 up until the close of business on March 25 to enroll.

Under the Home Energy Rebate Program, homeowners who want to make their own energy efficiency improvements on their home can receive a rebate for some of their expenditures. PNM - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Note: Energy efficiency program appointments and rebates are on a first-come, first-served basis and are for a limited time only. Once a program reaches its maximum capacity for the year, the program will resume the next calendar year.

Solar Water Heating Requirement for New Residential Construction

In June 2008, Hawaii enacted legislation, SB 644, with the intent to require solar water-heating (SWH) systems to be installed on all single-family new home construction, with a few exceptions. This legislation had several errors that were corrected by legislation passed during the 2009 legislative session. In June 2009, HB 1464 was signed by the governor and addressed the errors in the previous solar water heating requirement.

Local Option - Property Tax Assessment for Energy Efficient Buildings

In March 2008, Virginia enacted legislation that would allow local jurisdictions to assess the property tax of energy efficient buildings at a reduced rate. Under this law, eligible energy-efficient buildings, not including the real property on which they are located, may be considered a separate class of property for local taxation purposes. Accordingly, the governing body of any county, city or town may, by ordinance, allow a special assessment of the property taxes for this class of property.

Columbia Water & Light - Residential Energy Efficiency Incentives (Including Home Performance with Energy Star)

Columbia Water & Light (CWL) provides residential customers with a variety of incentive programs to increase energy efficiency in homes.

The following programs are available:

Home Performance With Energy Star: This is a national program designed to bring your home up to Energy Star standards. A certified contractor will perform an assessment of your home to show you ways to save on your energy costs.

Electric Vehicle Charge Rebates: CWL offers rebates for Level 2 Electric Vehicle Chargers for both retrofits and new home construction.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program

NOTE: Rebates have been updated for the Fiscal Year 2017. NJ Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program includes both rebate and loan as incentives. This program is listed twice under State Loan Program and State Rebate Program.
