NextZero - Offered by 21 Utilities through the MMWEC

The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) provides the NextZero Program to twenty-one municipal utilities in Massachusetts. 

 NextZero offers a home energy audit, appliance and lighting rebates, air conditioner and heat pump rebates, and other incentives for the implementation of measures recommended in an audit. Participating utilities customize the suite of rebates provided to customers in order to help those customers implement measures recommended in the energy audit. In addition, NextZero offers utilities the opportunity to offer rebates for installing battery storage systems.

Interconnection Standards

In April 2008, Kentucky enacted legislation which required the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) to develop interconnection and net metering guidelines for all retail electric suppliers operating in Kentucky (excluding TVA utilities). The Kentucky PSC adopted those guidelines on January 8, 2009 (Order 2008-00169).

Bio-Heating Oil Tax Credit (Personal)

Maryland allows individuals and corporations to take an income tax credit of $0.03/gallon for purchases of biodiesel used for space heating or water heating. The maximum credit is $500 per year. It may not be refunded or carried over to subsequent years. Refundable Clean Heating Fuel Tax Credit (Personal)

The state of New York began offering a personal income tax credit for biodiesel purchases used for residential space heating and water heating beginning in 2006. The original credit was authorized for only one year from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. However, in 2008 the law was amended to reinstate the credit for purchases made between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2011. PSEG Long Island - Net Metering

NOTE: As of January 1, 2014, Long Island is served by PSEG Long Island, replacing Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).

Although PSEG Long Island’s net metering policy is not governed by the State’s net metering law, the provisions are similar to the State law. Net metering is available for residential, non-residential, and residential farm PV and wind energy systems, farm-service, and residential micro-CHP and fuel cell systems. Riverland Energy Cooperative - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Eau Claire Energy Cooperative - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Eau Claire Energy Cooperative offers rebates to residential customers for the purchase of energy efficient appliances, central and room air conditioners, air source and geothermal heat pumps, dehumidifiers, water heaters, and home performance evaluations.  All equipment requirements must be met in order to be eligible for prescriptive rebates listed above.  Eau Claire Energy Cooperative members may also participate in the Focus on Energy incentive offerings, which may provide rebates for equipment not offered through this program. Visit program web site for more equipment and eligibility information.

Residential Renewable Electrical Generation Rebate Program

*Note: The program will be opening to new applications from September 13 to October 13, 2023.

The New Hampshire Department of Energy administers a rebate program for residential solar and wind systems. There are two steps involved in the rebate application process. Step one is a pre-approval application; step two is the final application. Both steps must be completed to receive the incentive. Rebates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 

The rebate is equal to $0.20/watt per residential owner of an eligible system, up to $1,000 or 30% of system costs, whichever is less.
